REVISED: Talking about Sex

One of the biggest forms of becoming a freshmen is peer pressure. One of the biggest form of peer pressure that college students encounter is sex. Once a student takes a leap from high school to college, everything changes. I admit that first time college students do feel a lot of pressure from their peers in becoming experienced. Experienced, meaning sex. My advice for incoming freshmen is not to not fall under peer pressure when it comes to their sex lives. A person should never be pressured into having sex if they are not ready. And if they are ready, use protection such as condoms or birth control.

AT exercise 7.6

I am not that surprised about my learning preferences because I have round out what my learning preferences were in my Science 2 class. I am considered to be an extrovert. I prefer taking action and variety, talk to people when I'm doing metal homework, I act quickly with little reflection, I prefer seeing how others do a task and see the outcome, and I like knowing what is expected of me. I am also a sensing person. I usually pay most attention to experience, I prefer using my five senses to find out what is happening, I dislike new problems, and I am patient with details. Although, I have a little intuition in myself because I enjoy learning new skills more than practicing old ones. I am considered half thinking and feeling person. I prefer to use personal feelings and values when making decisions, I like to please people, and I often can predict how others will feel. On the other hand, I may neglect and hurt other people's feelings without feeling it, and I can get along with people. I am also considered to be a perceiving person. I prefer to stay flexible and avoid fixed plans, I deal with unplanned and unexpected happenings, I start projects without completing them (until it's due), I usually seek new information and decide things too slowly, and I live by making changes to deal with problems as they come along.

Talking about Drugs

Freshman's in college are considered to be "under-dogs" and they are more than likely to do anything to fit in to the norm. Drugs in our society have always been a big debate on "if you don't use it, you're not cool" type of motto. I have friends that I am around that enjoy smoking cigarettes, pot, and drink alcohol. Although, back home, I have a lot of friends that constantly do drugs such as ecstasy pills. Personally, I have never tried the "pill" because I heard bad things such as losing brain cells. I have never liked cigarettes because I never liked the way they smelled.

Music list #4

5. Ashanti-F**k Song
4. J. Holiday-Bed
3. Snoop Dogg-Sexual Eruption
2. Ray J.-Sexy Can I
1. Lil Wayne-Me and My Drank

Out of these songs that mention sex and drugs, I like them all because it sounds great! Even though the lyrics are explicit, I like the artist and I like the way the songs sounds.

MY not so TOP RATED

10. Brittney Spears-Break the Ice
I have always loved Brittney Spears but not so much anymore after she came out with this song. She is still trying to be an artist when she already made another negative reputation for herself.

I do not like this song just because the beat in the background is so annoying!

I never really got the chance to like Janet Jackson, therefore, I do not like any of her songs.
7. The Fray-She Is
I do not like this song because of the retarded lyrics.
6. Jordin Sparks-Tattoo
I do not like this song because she talks about getting her boyfriends name tattooed on her and I would never consider doing that to myself, not matter how long my boyfriend and I have been together.
5. Kate Perry-I Kissed a Girl
At first I did like this song, then all of a sudden I started not liking it because of the lyrics.

This song just doesn't really sound that good.
1. Rhianna-Disturbia
This song is very annoying because of the lyrics and the beat in the background.

A little tip #6

For future references, undergraduate college student that want to pursue higher education in the future will need some sort of letter of recommendation. Now, a lot of professors offer their office hours for students. They are making themselves available to the students and majority of the time students do not take advantage of it. I suggest that a student must take the initiative to see their professors outside of class because it will benefit them in the future. By going to professor office hours, it shows professors how dedicated the student is to taking time away from their day to just see their professor.

a little something about Fever

In the Fever by Tim Riley mentions how rock n' roll transformed gender in America. "The evolution of Tina Turner's image over a half-century reflects the way men have traditionally cast women in pop, and prefigures women's defiant response in the sixties and afterward. Her role fronting the Ike and Tina Turner Revenue typified the plight of women acts: she was managed by a male producer who told her how to dress, fed her songs written by male show-biz impresarios and arrangers" (Riley, p.52). I find this quotation/paragraph very interesting because I never knew that women taking a lead role started from Tina Turner. I never knew that Tina Turner really did anything to change the way pop culture viewed women. It is amazing to find out the fact that Tina Turner surfaced around the time when discrimination was still going on and she managed to come out on top even though she was African American. Thanks to Tina, men and women are viewed equally when it comes to talent.
