memorable music

Over time, the type of music that I like has not really changed all that much but it did, just a little bit. When i was younger, about five years old till about thirteen years old, I was totally into pop music such as The Spice Girls & The Backstreet Boys. Then, all of a sudden, Brittney Spears & N'Sync came out, then I started listening to them. All of these pop music groups all sound the same but they are different in a way. The Spice Girls & The Backstreet Boys were attention grabbers because nobody really ever came out at that time that produced pop music like them. I loved the Spice Girls and always wished that I was one of the Spice Girls! ;) They were the "cool & hip ones" at the time. They had a sense of style and attitude. On the other hand, the Backstreet Boys were the total "HOT BOYBAND" back in the day. Every girl wanted to have a Backstreet Boy as a boyfriend, including me! They were so cute! And on top of that, they had amazing voices! After the Spice Girls & the Backstreet Boys' era, then came Brittney Spears and N'Sync. Now, Brittney Spears may not be in a pop group, but a solo artist, she shook up the stage! She was amazing! I remember seeing her in concert when I was in the fifth grade and almost lost my voice screaming and crying just because I was in the front row! She was the total icon of a young girl like me. She was cute, sexy, and had an amazing voice. Then, the same as the Backstreet Boys, N'Sync was also a boy band pop group that sang and dance. I was totally in love with all of them, Justin Timberlake, J.C. Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass (See I still even know all of their names).
As I got a little older, music artists like 3LW, and a lot of rappers started hitting it big. The only reason why I started listening to rap was because my older uncle, only five years older than me, was into all those kinds of music. As a result, he got me listening to Q-tip, Andre Nickatina, etc. It didn't take that long for me to start getting into hip hop and R&B.
For a period of time, when I was working at a steak house called Texas Roadhouse, we had a juke box that played non stop country music! Since I was working about five to six hours a day, I got into liking a little bit of country music such as Shania Twain, etc.
Now, I listen to not a whole lot of variety, but I listen to pop, hip hop, R&B, and sometimes a little bit of country.

You got to go to a concert when you were in the 5th grade? That's cool.

It sounds like music has always been important to you, and that you've sampled a good variety.
